In order to provide relief and rehabilitation to the earthquake victims of October 8, 2005, UGOOD established four tent villages in Azad Kashmir and one in H-11, Islamabad. Two tent cities were in Bagh, one at Union Council Salian and another one in Dhirkot. UGOOD Tent Cities rehabilitated more than 8,000 house-holds affected by the devastated earthquake. These people were kept and managed by UGOOD for as long as seven months and were provided with shelter, food, medical, education, vocational training and skill development facilities in the tent villages. The project cost was more than Rs.50 Million. The detail of activities of Kashmir and H-11 tent cities please check out the UGOOD Kashmir Chapter.
