UGOOD organizes “Conference on Human Rights Violation in Pakistan” in collaboration with Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan on 13th October 2009.

 
  On 13th October, 2009, UGOOD and Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan jointly organized a Conference on Human Rights Violation in Pakistan at Islamabad Hotel Islamabad. The purpose of the Conference was to promote and give awareness regarding Human Rights Violation in Pakistan especially focusing on Women Rights and Child Abuse. The event was largely attended by representatives & members of UGOOD from various Provinces and Cities, Government officials, Humanitarian workers, representatives of NGOs & INGOs, religious scholars, politicians and intellectuals from various backgrounds.

Chief Executive Officer of UGOOD, Syed Ishtiaq Ul Hassan Gilani welcomed all the distinguish guest and opened the dialogue. Mr. Gilani emphasized on the importance of human rights in a progressive, sophisticated and civilized society. He also highlighted human rights in perspective of our religion Islam. Other speakers in the event including Mr. Waris Saleemi spoke about the various aspects and status of human rights in our society.

Chief Guest Syed Mumtaz Gilani, Federal Minister for Human Rights spoke about the achievements with respect to the improved status of Human Rights and efforts of Ministry of Human Rights in this regard. He said that raising awareness on Human Rights is extremely important, especially among women and children.

Later on Mr. Gilani distributed "UGOOD Human Rights Awards" to the honorable Federal Minister, Ms. Hadija Haider (UGOOD Ambassador For Peace) and Mr. Waris Saleemi (UGOOD Chief Operational Officer For Human Rights) in recognition of their contributions towards eradication of human rights violations in Pakistan.
